Information You Send Directly
A name, phone number, or address entered into a search form is submitted to the third-party service that supplies results. Brooklyn Center Residents Directory does not retain a copy of those form entries. A contact message gives us the contents of that message, which are used to respond.
Automatically Collected Data
Hosting systems create routine logs that can include IP address, browser type, visited pages, and time stamps. We review aggregate activity to maintain the service and understand use of its reference pages. Cookies or comparable tools may be used for basic analytics and, when applicable, advertising measurement.
How Information Is Used
Information supports operating the service, diagnosing problems, measuring aggregate traffic, and improving reference material. We do not sell visitor lists or create individual visitor profiles.
External Services and Links
Links lead to county and state portals, library collections, archives, and third-party search services. The destination’s own privacy terms control information submitted there. That includes sponsored results, which are provided by a third party.
Who Can Process Data
Hosting and support providers process logs for the service. Analytics and advertising providers may receive the automatic information described above. Information is disclosed when valid legal process requires disclosure and not otherwise.
Safeguards for Data
The service uses an encrypted connection, and routine logs are retained only for the operational purposes described here. No visitor account, password, or profile is created by this service.
Visitors Under 18
The service is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a person under 18. If a minor has sent information, contact us so it can be deleted.
Your Information Choices
Depending on residence and applicable law, a visitor may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information a business holds. Minnesota Consumer Data Privacy Act material and Minn. Stat. ch. 325M provide privacy context for covered businesses; the Minnesota Government Data Practices Act, Minn. Stat. ch. 13, instead governs public data held by government entities. Because this service keeps little visitor information, requests generally involve checking the contact mailbox and server logs. Use the Contact page. Requests about a county, state, or Brooklyn Center record belong with its custodian.
